Poster of Creed III Displays First Look At Michael B Jordan's Return
A new poster for Creed 3 reveals director ~ Michael B. Jordan dominating big and ready to return to the ring for the franchise's sequel.
A new poster for Creed 3 shows that Michael B Jordan appears ready to return to the ring as the boxer of honor. Creed is a Rocky spinoff that follows the boxing career of Adonis Creed, son of Apollo Creed, one of Rocky Balboa's enemies and best friend. Jordan starred opposite Rocky creator Sylvester Stallone in the first two films, with Rocky playing the mentor and coach for Creed, who is now progressing in more ways than one. In addition to starring, Jordan is set to make his directorial debut with Creed 3 as somewhat of a torch-passing.
Jordan is joined by regular franchise actors Tessa Thompson and Felicia Rashad in the third chapter of the Creed saga and new addition Jonathan Majors, who is expected to be Creed's opponent this time around. Majors recently said he got punched in the face about 100 times during production, but "it's all right." Details about the film's plot are scarce, but production has already ended as the film's November 2022 release date approaches. However, one popular theory has suggested that Majors could be Rocky's third offspring by Clubber Lang (played by Mr. T).
In a new post from Collider, the first look at a Creed 3 teaser from the Las Vegas licensing fair has been revealed, featuring Michael Jordan as Adonis Creed. The MGM logo dominates big on the label, and in minimalist style, Jordan shows off a strong, appearance. The poster also prominently features a November release date.
Stallone wrote and starred in the first Rocky movie in 1976, launching one of the most successful franchises in Hollywood history, and produced five more films in the core series. In 2015, director Ryan Coogler continued the franchise with Creed, considered Jordan the titular character, and successfully continued the Rocky tradition with new leadership. Creed II was released in 2018 to critical and commercial acclaim and soon after a third sequel was greenlit with Jordan directing the chores and Stallone announced that he was abandoning the franchise altogether.
The Rocky legacy is a considerable weight to put on Creed's shoulders, but he's done a great job in continuing the traditions that make the franchise great while creating an identity of his own. It will be interesting to see what Jordan brings to the steering table for Creed 3, as the franchise is now in his hands and all eyes will be on him to see if he's up to the challenge. Creed 3 arrives in theaters on November 23, 2022.
