Chris Hemsworth shares a video from his last day on the set of Extraction 2, in which he thanks the cast and crew for their work on the sequel.
Actor Chris Hemsworth has shared a new video from Extraction 2, which confirms that his filming for Part Two is over. Sam Hargrave was best known as a stunt coordinator on films like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Endgame, Atomic Blonde, and Deadpool 2, before making his debut with Netflix's Extraction. At the time of its release, Extraction was Netflix's biggest movie ever, quickly leading to a green-lit sequel with Hargrave returning to live with a screenplay once again written by Joe Russo.
In addition to Hemsworth, Extraction 2 stars Tinatin Dalakishvili, Adam Bessa, Patrick Newall, Rayna Campbell, and Armen Gray. The sequel has been filmed for several months and Hemsworth has poked fun at how Extraction 2 ups the ante in terms of stunts and action. For example, Hemsworth shared an Extraction 2 video from the set that shows his character in a prison-like structure with a large group of people engaged in rioting, complete with fireworks. Now, Hemsworth and Hargrave have revealed a filming cover for Extraction 2.
Hemsworth recently took to Instagram to confirm that he has wrapped filming in Extraction 2. The 40-second clip shows the actor thanking the cast and crew for coming together and overcoming obstacles such as weather conditions during production. Then he joked about the absurdity of a single stunt involving a helicopter and a moving train. Hargrave shared the video and added that while Hemsworth has wrapped up, there is still a week of filming left. Check it out below:
Details of the Extraction 2 plot remain confidential. At the end of the first movie, mercenary Tyler Rick (Hemsworth) is badly injured and appears to be left to die. Of course, the sequel will explain how he survived his injuries after falling off that bridge and later deal with the fallout from that. The original extraction was hugely successful not because of its story but also because of the R-rated and thrilling thriller clips. Extraction 2 is going to have to deliver some of the best contemporary action sequences if it wants to top the first movie, and it looks like it can do just that.
With Thor: Love and Thunder, announced that he will play the villain in George Miller's Furiosa and Extraction 2, Hemsworth will have a busy year. If his next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe proves to be his last, the success of Extraction 2 could cement another trilogy and/or franchise. There is no release date for the movie yet, but it is expected to premiere sometime this year.
