Lucifer Season 5, Part Two introduced many angels to the celestial cast. Below is a summary of all the known angelic devil siblings.
Lucifer primarily revolves around Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) but over the course of the series, several other archangels have been introduced, including some who first appeared in Lucifer Season 5, Part 2. In the second half of Lucifer Season 5, we saw God (Dennis Haysbert) retires and leaves the universe, which prompts Lucifer and his evil twin brother Michael to compete for promotion to become the new god. Then the other archangels were forced to choose between Michael and Lucifer and even go to war with each other.
Angels are incredibly powerful celestial beings born to God and his wife, the goddess (Trichia Helfer), in the beginning. Archangels are part of the heavenly host and have many supernatural abilities, including great strength and wings for flight and immortality. Although angels are supposed to live forever, they can also be killed with certain weapons such as a flaming sword. Some of the older and more powerful Archangels also possess a unique special ability such as the power of Amenadiel (DB Woodside) to slow down time or persuade Lucifer to release someone's deepest desires. Despite their deity, many Archangels, unfortunately, consider themselves supreme beings and look down upon humanity because they are jealous of all the attention humans receive from God.
Now that Lucifer becomes a god at the end of Season 5, it's not clear what the future holds for Satan's many brothers and sisters. Here is every archangel that has been introduced into Lucifer so far and what every celestial being can do.
Lucifer Morningstar (Samael)
Samael changed his name to the cooler Lucifer Morningstar ("The Light Bringer") and is one of the most powerful Archangels. As the ruler of Hell, Lucifer can transform into his demonic form, which terrifies humans. Lucifer also has a unique ability to extract people's hidden desires, which Satan calls "Mojo". At the end of Lucifer Season 5, Lucifer becomes God but it is not yet clear if the demon's promotion granted him the same ultimate ability and ultimate knowledge as his Heavenly Father.
Amenadiel
Amenadiel is God's firstborn angel, his greatest warrior, and represents his wrath and his righteousness. One of Amenadiel's duties over the millennia has been to return Lucifer to Hell whenever Satan would venture to Earth. Unbeknownst to Lucifer, God tasked his older brother with blessing Chloe Decker's (Lauren German) parents to give birth to her as a gift from God to Lucifer. Amenadeel used to look down on humanity but now he is fascinated by it. He's Charlie's father, the half-human/half-angel who raised him with Dr. Linda Martin (Rachel Harris). Amenadiel also has a unique ability to slow down time and has completely stopped time in Lucifer Season 5, Episode 8. Of all the Archangels, Amenadiel is closest to Lucifer, whom he calls "Lucy."
Michael
Michael (originally pronounced Mike-ah-el) is Lucifer's identical twin brother and the main villain of Season 5. Michael has always been envious of his more charismatic twin and has even self-actualized for the permanent chips on his shoulder in his right arm. It was Michael who spoke to Lucifer in order to rebel against God and was angry when this led to their father casting Lucifer into Hell to rule as his own kingdom. In Lucifer's fifth season, Michael briefly impersonates his twin to spoil Lucifer's life as a prelude to his long match where he plans to rape their father as the new god, which includes convincing Michael his father that he was losing his powers until God came to Earth. Instead, Lucifer became God and cut off Michael's wings as punishment. The demon also permanently scarred Michael's face to prevent further impersonations.
Saraquel
Saraqael (or "Sara") is introduced in Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 as one of the angels whose voice Satan used as he defended his campaign to become God. Sara was one of the angels who sided with Lucifer in his rebellion and complained that she had suffered from "the passive-aggressive wrath of God" ever since. Lucifer tried to win Saraquel's favor by introducing her to Top Chef winner Michael Voltaggio and arranging the franchises with him, but she changed her mind and sided with Michael.
Azrael
Azrael (Charlene Yee) is the angel of death, one of the most powerful heavenly hosts. She holds the blade of Azrael, which is the main component of a flaming sword, and can eliminate anyone killed with it. Azrael became friends with Ella Lopez (Amy Garcia) when she was a child and convinced Ella that she was an imaginary ghost friend named Ray Ray. Azrael became the catalyst for Miss Lopez's move to Los Angeles and to join the Los Angeles Police Department as a forensic scientist. Azrael returned in the season five Lucifer finale to take Chloe Decker, even though Satan sacrificed himself in heaven to revive Chloe, which led to Lucifer becoming God.
Gabriel
Mentioned several times throughout the series and shown in Lucifer Season 5, Part 2, Gabriel (Kimia Piburnia) is a messenger of God who Amenadiel sarcastically called "the angel of gossip". Gabrielle usually enjoys all the "gossip" that she spreads to her siblings. Gabriel sided with Michael in his campaign to become God and the flaming sword escaped from the god's dimension after delivering a message to Lucifer reuniting God and the goddess. Gabriel also fought with Michael in the archangel but bowed to Lucifer when Satan became a god.
Remiel
One of Lucifer and Amenadiel's younger siblings, Remiel (Vinessa Vidotto) was a fierce and brilliant hunter. Besides her hunter's intuition, Remiel could also sense the presence of celestial beings and had come to Earth to bring Amenadiel's young son Charlie to heaven, resulting in a battle between the two. In Lucifer Season 5, Rimmel upholds Lucifer's claim to be God and agrees to spy on Michael. When she was discovered, Michael Rimmel was killed.
Uriel
Uriel (Michael Imperioli) was a welcome soul to heaven and one of God's messengers. He was also one of the villains in Lucifer's second season who threatened Chloe Decker's life because Lucifer allowed their mother, the goddess, to remain on Earth after she escaped from Hell. Uriel had a unique power to predict patterns, but he did not expect Lucifer to stab him with Azrael's blade, killing the archangel.
Zadkiel
Zadkill (Josh Rush) is an angel of righteousness and carries a staff made of the Tree of Life. Presented in Lucifer Season Five, Part Two, Zadkiel despises Lucifer for his rebellion against God, but finds himself touched when Satan confesses that he wants to become a god in order to be worthy of Chloe Decker's love. Zadkill originally sided with Michael but turned around and sided with Lucifer. Although most other angels did not follow suit, Lucifer gave Zadkiel an "A+ for effort."
Jophiel
Introduced in Lucifer Season 5, Part Two, Jophiel (Miles Boris) is one of the "swing voting angels" that Lucifer exploited when he called to become a god. Even though he's a party animal and an idiot who met Lucifer just to get some of his fancy drinks, Jouvel claims he's been tight with the Devil for the Millennium and still laughs about the time Lucifer "undressed Napoleon." However, Jophiel sided with Michael before bowing to Lucifer as the new deity.
Ibriel
Ibriel (David Boglione) is one of the Archangels who immediately sided with Michael for God. Ibriel was Michael's follower and believed that humans "don't matter". But like the rest of his brothers, Ibriel ended up bowing to Lucifer as the new god.
Raziel
Raziel (Kelina Rutherford) sided with Michael and acted as one of his henchmen, but differed in the violence she was asked to commit as well as Michael's contempt for humanity and their other angelic brothers. Raziel joins Zadkiel in turning Michael down and siding with Lucifer, but she changes her mind again. Regardless, he bowed before Lucifer as the new god.
Other Archangels Referenced In Lucifer
Raphael was mentioned after Lucifer returned to Hell and was proud of the demon he had grown as a person.
Castiel is another angel that Amenadiel once said has a beautiful singing voice and sings all the time in the Silver City, although he may sometimes disturb the other inhabitants of Heaven.
Hanjobadiel was called the "most beautiful" of the angels at God's retirement ceremony, although Lucifer initially assumed they were referring to him.
There are also several other unknown angels in Lucifer Season 5 who were present at God's Retirement Party and later fought alongside Michael at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
