Lucifer Renewed for Season 6 by Netflix
Lucifer Season 6 |
Once again, Lucifer seems to be rising from the ashes of mortality, and its unprecedented run on TV will continue again. Netflix saved the famous DC Comics adaptation from cancellation after its third season, giving Lucifer another chance in life on the streaming service. Then it was announced that Season 5 would be the end of the series. Not so fast, as Netflix changed her mind and confirmed that Lucifer would indeed return for the sixth season in the future.
The broadcasting service announced Tuesday morning that Lucifer has been rescued from the perdition again - because Netflix has resurrected the devilish WBTV drama for the sixth and final season. In other words, Season 5 is no longer the end, which was hinted at yesterday when Netflix announced the premiere date for Season 5A (August 21) without calling it the final season.
However, there is some bad news that comes with this announcement. The sixth season of Lucifer will be really the last season of Lucifer. This shouldn't be a very big deal, though seeing how the show has already seen two final seasons. We are all used to hearing it now.
According to the Twitter announcement from the official Lucifer account, this one will really be the last. "the devil made us do it," says Tweet. "Lucifer will return to the sixth and final season. Like the final."

News of this final renewal comes just one day after Netflix released the first teaser of the highly anticipated fifth season of Lucifer, announcing that the next batch of episodes would be released on August 21.
Despite planning for the fifth season initially as the end of the series on Netflix, star Tom Ellis reached an agreement in his contract for the sixth season earlier this year. Once that happened, it made the sixth batch seem almost certain.
