5 Times Riverdale Was Crazier Than Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (5 Times Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Was Crazier) |
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa brought characters from Archie Comics alive when Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina started on Cw and Netflix, respectively. Both series take a darker turn than their comic book counterparts,
While Riverdale brought Archie and the gang to life, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina brought Sabrina and her squad of supporting characters alive. Due to the different storylines, the shows are very different even though they are stuck in the same universe. Each show did some crazy things. However, there are times when one did more crazy things than the other.
Riverdale: The Sisters Of Quiet Mercy
Riverdale: The Sisters Of Quiet Mercy |
Betty first went to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy to find her sister Polly. The institution acted as a psychiatric ward and a mental hospital. Although it always had a creepy vibe, things got more intense every season. The Sisters of Quiet Mercy didn't only act as a mental institution. It was also the original home of Gryphons and Gargoyles, a place of drug used on patients and a place for gay conversion therapy. The Sisters of Quiet Mercy become a worse place every time they appear on Riverdale.
Sabrina: Lucifer Is Sabrina's Father
Sabrina: Lucifer Is Sabrina's Father |
Speaking of a plot twist, Sabrina did not expect that her family is not her true family. The worrying truth compels Sabrina to accept that her father is the Lord of Darkness. Lucifer and Sabrina's relationship becomes ever more complicated and intense with every action both of them do.
As much as Sabrina hates him, she knows he has had an impact on her life. Satan lived in Nick's mind, and his role in Hell welcomed Sabrina on a new side of her life. However, Sabrina was never lost sight of seeing that Lucifer is the Villain.
Riverdale: Veronica's Speakeasy
Riverdale: Veronica's Speakeasy |
Who is seventeen years old who owns and operates Speakeasy? Veronica's business ventures might be ambitious, but this was totally unrealistic. Although Veronica plans not to sell alcohol, this plan was eventually thrown out the window. It is doubtful how many Riverdale adults know that Speakeasy is located under Pop's Diner. Everyone treated the business as if it was totally normal and had never been heard of for a teenager running such a place. Speakeasy also hosts several music shows. Veronica, Josie, and others got up on stage to perform.
Sabrina: Queen Of Hell
Sabrina: Queen Of Hell |
Greendale's resident teenage witch has more than superhero powers. By the end of the third part, Sabrina's position in the Night Church has risen again. More than being a half-mortal or Lucifer's daughter, Sabrina also inherits a startling crown. While keeping the Devil in Nick, and later Blackwood, Sabrina fights Caliban for the throne. Three rounds of finding Unholy Regalia and a time paradox later lead one of Sabrina's identities to officially become the Queen of Hell. While Riverdale has gone through some important crazy moments, none of its characters carry such a title.
Riverdale: "Survive The Night"
Riverdale: "Survive The Night" |
Finally, he discovered that a Chic was running around Riverdale as the Gargoyle King was only the first of the crazy thing to happen at the end of Season 3 of Riverdale. Next, Penelope Blossom, who was behind Gargoyle King's insane actions, cast the four core in a terrifying game from Gryphons and Gargoyles.
Where the stakes are life and death, Penelope sees this as an opportunity to show the other midnight club members what it felt like to lose a child. Betty, Jughead, Veronica, and Archie are out alive with the help of combined forces from Southside Serpents and Pretty Poison.
Sabrina: Bringing Mortals To Hell
Sabrina: Bringing Mortals To Hell |
To be fair, Harvey, Roz, and Theo told Sabrina that they wanted to be included in her magical adventures. Calling themselves the Fright Club, the humans were ready to travel to hell with Sabrina to find Nick. When Sabrina finds a way to do it, her human friends seem worried but still decide to go. Arming her friends with the shoes of the dead, she leads them through hell until they reach Pandemonium, where Lilith Lucifer keeps inside Nick's body. Fortunately, they all leave hell with their lives intact.
Riverdale: The Farm
Riverdale: The Farm |
Their official appearance in season three is The Farm. The farm is a cult disguised with apparently kind and understanding members. However, there is more beneath the surface. The farm uses its members as a way to harvest organs. They also convince their members that they can communicate with the dead. Edgar Evernver's followers do not ask much about his methods, and they quickly fall under his spell. During The Farm's debut in Season 4, Edgar and Evelyn plan to lead their followers off a cliff on a bus while Edgar wants to ascend by flying a rocket.
Sabrina: Cannibalism
Sabrina: Cannibalism |
The Feast of Feasts is the witch equivalent to mortal's Thanksgiving. But, there is one drastic difference. While humans lean via turkey, stuffing, and gravy, witches enjoy themselves by devouring human flesh. It is an honor to be named "Queen of the Feast," at least that is what they have been taught to believe. Sabrina is one of the rare people that sees this aspect of the tradition to be monumentally unappetizing.
However, even after all the hoops, Sabrina jumped to prevent the event from unfolding, the witches would not accept it. A witch sacrificed herself gladly for the cave, and the rest quickly swallowed her.
Riverdale: Random Musical Numbers
Riverdale: Random Musical Numbers |
Riverdale started the musical episodes in Season Two when the characters were put on the musical "Carrie". Before that, while there were music acts, it was for a public show. However, the episodes picked up a notch, as the characters sang and danced outside the show. While the characters would sing songs from the play they were performing, this wasn't for training. They just sang. After the end of the musical episode, no one talked about when they broke into the song and dance on a regular day.
Sabrina: Massive Magic Mistakes
Sabrina: Massive Magic Mistakes |
While Sabrina seems to do what she wants with her magic, sometimes it may be too much. Sabrina's true belief that she is doing the right thing is a questionable motive, as is her selfishness. two prime examples are its attempt to necromancy and making a time paradox to happen. Tommy's revival was supposed to be for Harvey.
However, not returning Tommy's soul to his body made things worse, and Harvey had to kill his older brother. The end of the third part showed a future that happened due to Sabrina distracting while searching for the third piece of Unholy Regalia. Using time travel, Sabrina prevents the future from happening but does not merge with the other-self. Instead, Sabrina's counterparts decided to live a separate life. While one of them lives with her family and friends, the other gets the nickname "Queen of Hell".
