Concept Art: Thanos Sucks Out The Avengers' Souls in This Infinity War

Thanos uses the Soul Stone to suck the souls of heroes in the concept art of the Avengers: Infinity War. It has been nearly two years since the movie hit theaters, but new details are still emerging regarding this, which makes people talk about it.

As Infinity War brought together all pockets of the MCU, it boasted a huge cast which posed some challenges for filmmakers in terms of screen time balancing. Roussos had to be crafty in making sure all the characters were given their time to shine, causing the movie to break the heroes into mini-groups while maintaining the main focus on Thanos. While parts of the battle in Wakanda with Black Panther and Captain America began to lead the charge against Thanos' minions, The Mad Titan on his home planet Titan as he dealt with the unusual gang of Iron Man, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, and some of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Fresh from acquiring Soul Stone on Vormir by sacrificing Gamora, Thanos was ambushed on Titan by the combined forces of New York heroes and criminals. Apparently, there was only one part of the fighting sequence that didn't work in the Infinity War final as illustrated in this artistic concept invented by John Staub, the scene would feature Thanos using Soul Stone to separate the souls of the heroes from their physical bodies. Check out the pictures below:

This special scene was even shot, Tom Holland also revealed. While doing the press rounds for last year's Spider-Man: Far From Home, he describes what is happening in this scene. However, in contrast to this artistic concept, it looked like only the guardians of the galaxy had been affected since he added that Spider-Man had to help cosmic heroes to restore their astral forms in their bodies. While this didn't make Infinity War's final cut, fans still see Thanos using Soul Stone - albeit in a more accurate way. When Doctor Strange cast a spell to repeat himself in an attempt to confuse the villain, Thanos used the same stone to mark the location of the true hero so he could target him. Other than that, there is no other use of this gem, even in Avengers: Endgame.

As of now, infinite stones are no longer present in the primary MCU timeline. Those Thanos were destroyed at the start of Endgame, while Captain America returned those they got from the heroes' time heist. Unlike the other five, Soul Stone is the most underutilized of all gems since it didn't pop up until the events of Avengers: Infinity War. It is curious that Marvel Studios will rever revisit it and the rest of the stones in the future, but for the time being, it does not seem that it will explicitly affect any upcoming projects.
