Supernatural, which aired in 2005, is one of the longest-running TV dramas. It all started on The WB before moving to The CW after the UPN merger. The series quickly winds up loose ends and fills the storylines for a supernatural to rest, even if they have to take the whole world with it. Tonight's episode, titled "Kid of Destiny", is episode 13 of the show in the planned season of 20 episodes. However, whether the show will be able to finish its run was unknown after closing the production of the coronavirus, in the same way, that nearly all TV shows did.
Dabb moved to Twitter today to relieve the fans of this, explaining first, "Due to the shutdown, this will be our last episode for a while." He later released issued a clarification, saying,
"We have filmed through episode 18, however, our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak. So, right now, the episodes can't be finished." Dab concluded by emphasizing his Twitter followers: “
We, CW, and Warner Bros. are totally planning to come back and end the series. It's not an“ if ”if,' it's a matter of 'when“ when. ”Check out Dabb's tweets about Supernatural below:

The phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells, "What you gonna do with your life?"
Oh daddy dear, you know you're still number one...
(Due to the shutdown, this will be our last episode for awhile. Stay well, stay safe, and we'll see you on the other side.)— Andrew Dabb (@andrewdabb) March 23, 2020
(Clarification: We have filmed through episode 18, however our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak. So, right now, the episodes can't be finished. However, have some special treats coming along the way-- to help us all get through this.)— Andrew Dabb (@andrewdabb) March 23, 2020
Supernatural is hardly the only Hollywood production affected by the coronavirus. Many parts of the country and the world have stopped filming in the past few weeks. Some creators managed to work in pre-production and post-production from home, while others, like those working on the supernatural, we're unable to do so. It makes perfect sense for visual and sound effects because these functions often require special software and equipment that may not be available at home.
This news about Supernatural will likely be a relief to audiences who are not sure that the show will be able to finish its story. After 15 seasons with the characters, they are understood to be concerned. With Dabb's announcement, viewers now know they'll see an appropriate farewell for Dean, Sam, and others. As Dabb explained, it's hard to have a timeframe for that at this point, but at least fans know that Supernatural will be able to finish it up in the end.
